Wright's SHADOW Dreams of Paul

Shadow was the third Husky that become ours.
By the time he came to us he had been bounced around quite a bit. He was born to a backyard breeder June 9th of 2005, some where in North Georgia. Then sold at six weeks to a family in Athens Georgia, they couldn't keep him so they gave him to some of their family, who wouldn't keep him long, and then finally he was given to my young brother in law Paul at the age of 6 months old!

In the early spring of 2006 Paul called me to say he wasn't going to keep the dog either, he wanted me to have him. I explained that I already two huskies and I didn't know how I would take care of another one at that time, plus I had just been diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure at the age of 36! He insisted that I be the one that get the dog. I told him I would go get him and I would find him a great home.

Until I went to get Shadow I had never seen him before. As we walked into the house where he was at; the dog came charging past my husband Eddie and ran up to me, placed his paws on my shoulders and hugged me! I was in love! They had been calling him some off the wall name that didn't make sense to me, so I re-named him Shadow, and that is what he has been from that day forward, even as I type this.

A few weeks later I was at home on a Saturday afternoon and got a call that would change my life. Paul had taken his life! From that day on Shadow was mine to keep. In my heart of hearts I believe Paul had the rest of his life planned out and I will forever be thankful to him for providing me with the closest friend I have ever had.

Thank you Paul, may you Rest in Peace,
my friend, my brother.
